Top 100 Invitational Event

February 21, 2014 | For Immediate Release

Scottsdale, AZ – Legacy of the Links experienced success in every way at its inaugural Top 100 Invitational event held at Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Orlando, FL.

According to Legacy of the Links Co-founders Taba Dale and Kevin McGrath, the event (which immediately followed the 2014 PGA Show) paves the way for an annual Top 100 Invitational tournament, one that will be played at a “Top 100” venue, domestic and/or international.

At the inaugural event, Co-founder Taba Dale announced the creation of Legacy of the Links Top 100 Hall of Fame and shared the breaking news that Mr. Mike Keiser, Founder of Bandon Dunes (along with several other great golf venues), was the first inductee. Dale also took a moment to unveil the custom leather-bound Top 100 Hall of Fame diary, where Legacy of the Links will chronicle the names of each inductee commencing with its first honoree, Mr. Mike Keiser.

“Not only are we paying tribute to what Mr. Keiser has achieved along the Oregon Coast, we are also saluting his contributions to the spectacular developments at Cabot Links in Nova Scotia and Barnbougle Dunes GL and Lost Farm in Tasmania, and we tip our hat to him for contemplating a multi-course golf experience in Wisconsin,” said Taba Dale. “His absolute appreciation of classic architecture and consistent idealism, especially for preserving the soul of the game, has earned Mr. Keiser this lasting legacy of being the first inductee into the Top 100 Hall of Fame.”

At the inaugural event participation included golfers representing 24 clubs/courses from both the U.S. and World “Top 100” ranking lists. The impressive list included Ballybunion GC, Bay Hill Club, Bellerive CC, Bonita Bay Club, Chechessee Creek Club, Isleworth G&CC, Lahinch GC, Loch Lomond GC, Machrihanish GC, Merion GC, North Berwick GC, Pete Dye Club, Pine Valley GC, Portmarnock GC, Riviera CC, Royal Dornoch GC, Secession GC, St. Andrews Old Course, The Concession GC, The Golf Club New Albany, TPC Sawgrass, Victoria National GC and Yale GC. Players enjoyed participating in the 18-hole Stableford event at Isleworth G&CC, one of Florida’s most exclusive golf clubs. All participants received an exquisite tee gift supplied by Tipperary Crystal, the event sponsor.
